Sport Recife lost the chance to take the Série B lead after drawing 1-1 with Athletic-MG at Ilha do Retiro. The Leão opened the score with Augusto Pucci, but saw Ian Luccas tie everything up. The game was marked by goals annulled by offside and good chances for both teams. The Sport had more possession of the ball and created the best opportunities, mainly with Madson and Perotti. The red-and-black attacker came close to scoring, but the attempt was invalidated by offside. On the other hand, Athletic also threatened and wasted a great chance with Kauan Rodrigues. In the second half, the visitors started better and scored with Dixon Vera, but the referee again signaled offside. After withstanding the initial pressure, Sport regained control of the game and created opportunities. De Pena forced Luan Polli to make a good save, while Biel hit the post with a header. The red-and-black insistence was rewarded at 31 minutes. After a cross in the area, Biel headed and found Augusto Pucci. The right-back, formed in the club's base categories, shot low and opened the score for the Pernambucan team. The advantage, however, was short-lived. Six minutes later, Ian Luccas received inside the area, dominated in the chest and finished with precision in the corner of Thiago Couto, declaring the draw of Athletic-MG. In the final minutes, Sport tried to press for the win, but found difficulties to break through the opponent's defense. At the final whistle, the red-and-black crowd showed dissatisfaction with the result and booed the team at Ilha do Retiro. Sport returns to the field on Sunday (15), at 11h, when they face São Bernardo away in a direct confrontation in the top of the table. Athletic-MG receives Goiás, also on Sunday, at 16h, at Arena Sicredi.
